Men's surf boardshorts
Boardshorts aren't something you pick out in the beach section of a department store. They need to dry in minutes between sessions, not balloon underwater during take-off, allow for unrestricted leg movement while paddling, and last for several seasons without fading or tearing at the seams. Jubai boardshorts are built around these real-world requirements, hand-sewn in Guadeloupe, tested in the Caribbean, and designed for men who actually surf.
Cut and construction: the details that make the difference in the water
Belt and support
Our boardshorts are cut to stay in place without restricting movement. A reinforced elastic waistband with an internal drawstring, and a hook-and-loop or flat button closure depending on the model, ensure the shorts stay put while paddling, withstand wipeouts, and won't slip down during duck dives. No gaping waistbands, no drawstrings escaping in the water: every closure system is designed for use in real surfing conditions.
Freedom of movement and technical cut
The take-off requires full knee flexion and a full range of hip movement. Our boardshorts are cut with a dropped crotch and four-way stretch fabric to avoid restricting movement. The length is calibrated to ensure optimal board positioning—not too short to prevent deck irritation, and not too long to add weight in the water.
Water drainage and quick drying
Jubai technical fabric is woven to wick away water immediately after a wave. No unwanted bulk on takeoff, no weighed-down shorts that pull down while paddling. Between sessions, it dries quickly, a property that lower-grade cotton or polyester fabrics simply can't replicate.
Resistance to the elements
The technical fabric used withstands prolonged UV exposure (UPF 50+), is resistant to seawater, chlorine, and abrasive sand. It retains its elasticity and color session after session, unlike consumer boardshorts that fade, pucker, or develop seams after just one season. Flatlock stitching is strategically placed to avoid direct friction with the board, preventing thigh irritation at the end of long sessions.
Eco-responsible from thread to wave
Materials sourced from sustainable supply chains
Our boardshorts are made from technical fabrics using recycled fibers, recycled polyamide sourced from fishing nets and plastic waste recovered from the sea. A logical choice for a brand born on an island, whose creators surf the same waters they strive to protect. Technical performance and eco-responsibility are not contradictory: the same high-density fibers offer lightness, strength, and durability.
Small-batch, handmade production
Each pair of Jubai boardshorts is individually sewn in Guadeloupe, in limited quantities. No overproduction, no dead stock: we make what's ordered, at the workshop's pace. The finishing touches are visible to the naked eye: flat stitching that doesn't rub against the board, and low-profile seams that last without fraying.
Maintenance and lifespan
A well-maintained pair of boardshorts lasts for several seasons. Rinse in cold water after each session and dry flat in the shade: Jubai technical fabric retains its elasticity and color without fading. Less frequent replacement means less waste. That's what eco-responsible beachwear is all about.
Exclusive Caribbean motifs: a unique visual identity for each collection
Each Jubai print is hand-drawn by our founder, inspired by the flora, colors, and energy of the Caribbean. No designs are purchased from stock: these are original creations, printed in small batches on technical fabric. Two surfers in the water wearing the same Jubai boardshorts? Unlikely. The ultra-saturated colors are designed to stay vibrant even when wet, even under overcast skies, unlike those faded prints that turn gray after three sessions.
Available in sizes S to XL, in standard length or short cut for more freedom in the water, our boardshorts match the entire Jubai range or can be worn alone, out of the water, as beach or city shorts.
👉 Comment entretenir mon boardshort ?
